Kiwanis Family House

May 3rd Big Day of Giving Results

A Big Day Indeed!

Goal: $90,000

Raised: $97,934.36

Donors: 206

Big Day of GivingIt was an amazing Big Day of Giving for our Kiwanis Family House! The unofficial standings put us in 2nd place overall out of nearly 600 nonprofits–unreal!

We envisioned it and then we chased it down – the alluring and elusive third third (and darned if we didn’t find ourselves a piece of the fourth third during the chase).  Our team made a loud statement yesterday and the regional non-profit community now knows Kiwanis Family House runs with the Big Dogs.  Yesterday we ran to the tune of nearly $98,000!

We mobilized our donor base to build the first third.  We value contributions from our Circle K District and local Aktion clubs that made up the second third.  So how do we explain our discovery of the most challenging piece of the pie – the one-third of our ambitious $90,000 goal that we met for the first time yesterday?  Our community partnerships gave us a real boost.  Our events at Broadway Coffee (hosted by Greater Sacramento Kiwanis) and Stones (hosted by Citrus Heights Kiwanis) delivered impact and increased our visibility.  We are grateful to Jimmy and Charles at Broadway Coffee for opening their store for our morning event, and to Matt at Stones for hosting us in the evening.

Thank you to all who participated in this historic day for Kiwanis Family House: our board, our staff, and our donors, both new and long-term.

You have each made a significant contribution to our House, but more importantly, to the more than 1,800 families we serve each year.  Knowing we can continue to support and comfort these families in their time of need is our reward for a job well done.

With Gratitude,

Dan Germain
